What started as a simple hobby quickly grew into a full-time, heartwarming family business. Ruben Montilla first began beekeeping for the love of it, and soon his son Rubert Montilla joined him. During the pandemic, when most of the world stood still, it was the bees that kept the Montilla family going. The demand for local honey surged, and with it, Aruba’s Bee Haven came to life.
In 2021, the business was officially registered at the Chamber of Commerce, and not long after, Rubert’s partner Ivirgna Hernandez joined the adventure—falling in love not only with Rubert, but also with the bees.
Together, they created a true haven for bees—a place that not only produces delicious honey but also protects, relocates, and educates about the essential role bees play in our ecosystem.
